“I would like to express my gratitude to Capay Farms for allowing their harvest and hulling teams to help me and my family out with our harvesting and hulling needs.

As you know, the cost of harvesting equipment is very expensive, not to mention the cost of a huller. Being small walnut farmer I can not afford either one. It is important to us to produce the finest quality product we can, but with our limited resources, we have been held hostage to the time restrictions and schedules of a custom private harvester and huller. As a result, between harvesting, trucking and hulling, we have suffered dearly on our grades.

Fortunately last year, Capay Farms, helped us with the trucking and hulling of our walnuts. Your employees Ben Walsh and Rick Foell (and the hulling team) were phenomenal and my product improved greatly. This year I had an unexpected challenge. Just a little over a month before harvest my custom harvesting outfit informed me that they would not be able to harvest for me any longer. I was at a complete loss. In hindsight, it was a blessing in disguise! Again Capay Farms helped me out. Only this year it was a one stop shop for us. From tree to dryer in about eight hours, record time for our product! What use to take three or four days was now complete in less than one day. Capay Farms’ harvest and hulling teams were fantastic and worked very well together. I can’t say enough good things about them. Harvest activities were absolutely dialed in, everything happened in perfect timing; in addition, Ben was right on track with the hulling process; and as a result, my product was completed in great condition. I have not received my final grades as yet, but my test grades were the best I have had in the seven years I have been farming walnuts.
